See how important your support is for those with disabilities to live, learn and work in their community! Here's a few of our programs that benefit. Physical and Occupational Therapists, Speech-Language pathologists and clinicians specializing in Assistive Technology develop individualized treatment programs for persons with a variety of orthoapedic and neurological diagnoses including: spinal cord injury, brain injury, stroke, MS, and Parkinson's Disease. Highly trained clinicians address issues in communication, feeding, mobility and activities of daily living. For more complex patients, assessments may include speciality wheelchairs, computer access, home access and augmentative communication devices.
Recreation and Respite Services
Camp Fairlee -Caregivers get a break from the responsibilities of continuous care while adults and children ages 6 and older enjoy a host of recreational activities geared toward the age, interest and abiliites of each individual at Camp Fairlee residential camp outside of Chestertown, MD. Week long summer sessions, and a weekend respite program are offered. Nurses and medical care are available. Special sessions with one-to-one care are offered for children with autism. Also available are travel trips for adults with disabilities to destinations all over the East Coast.
Easter Seals Respite-We offer various opportunities for respite services to give temporary relief to caregivers and families who are caring for individuals with disabiliites, chronic illnesses, or the elderly. Community Outreach Program and Conference Center
Our Community Outreach Program offers disability related education and resources to connect consumers, caregivers and professionals to information they need. Our Resource and Technology Demonstration Center provides opportunities for "hands on" trial of equipment. Throughout the year, educational presentations covering topics related to disabilities, care giving and therapeutic techniques are offered in our Conference Center.
Day Services for Adults with Developmental Disabilities
Adults with developmental disabilities receive individualized supports designed according to their preferences and needs. Day programs are available both in facility-based and in community experience settings with a variety of work readiness, educational, physical fitness, social, volunteer work and therapeutic activities. All day service options provide respite to caregivers, allowing them to work or attend to other needs during program hours.
